This is one of 10 exciting games written exclusively for Softdisk Publishing by ID Software.  This little known "lost game collection" of ID Software is now available to ID's many fans only from Softdisk Publishing.  
     
In SLORDAX you have been called upon by the Intergalactic Defense Alliance (IDA) to perform a preemptive strike against the warrior race known as the Slordax.

This is a shoot'em up space game done just the way you like 'em... with fast and furious action!

     
^C^I*                      Summary of how to play                      *

You will fly against the Slordax in a RedDog Adaptive Strike Ship, the fastest and deadliest ship in the galaxy.  With its adaptability it can use the occasional piece of a destroyed enemy ship as an energy source or weapon.

Your mission is divided into 5 distinct phases, as outlined below:

Phase One:  Fly in through the asteroid belt to avoid detection from Slordia.  It's a very dangerous area --- watch out for automatic defense systems.

Phase Two:  Pierce the defense screens and skim the planet's surface to avoid further detection.  Their defense will be alerted, so be careful.  You must find the entrance to the old Fleet construction tunnels.

Phase Three:  Fly through the Fleet tunnels, avoiding the automatic defense systems, patrol drones, energy fields, and giant machinery.  Find your way to the realm of the Slordax --- a sort of hazy bubble in the time-space continuum.

Phase Four:  Fly through the realm of the Slordax on your mission to find and destroy any Slordians.  The inner defenses are sure to be tough, so be careful!

Phase Five:  Destroy the remaining Slordians, find you way out of their system, and arrive safely back at IDA headquarters to receive your commendation.

^C^1Other playing tips

As they die, some Slordian ships will release important power-up capsules that you can pick up.  There are 4 main types of power-ups:

^1             Shot power
^1             Auto-fire
^1             Extra ship

When you see one of this capsules floating out of the debris of a destroyed enemy ship, get it!
