Everything after the first seven lines is just a comment.
The seven modem commands are, in order:                               default:
 Escape code sequence; go from on-line mode to command mode.               +++
 Initialize; echo off, numeric responses, minimal result code set. ATE0V0X0&Q0 
 Answer immediately; for receiver, connection established mode.            ATA
 Answer when ring detected; for receiver, no connection established mode.  ATA
 Connect immediately; for caller, connection established mode.             ATD
 Dial number; this command will be appended with the phone number.         ATD
 Hang up.                                                                  ATH
